We are mid way through week 2 of C25K doing well, but I have not been able to make it to a run on a consistent basis. Need to work harder on doing it every other day, to make it worth doing. Doing the last day of week 2 and then starting week 3 next Monday. I feel like I have my eating under control, but need to clean it up just a little more. I’ve been able to stop drinking and smoking, but with friends in town last weekend, and the memorial day weekend, there were some beers drank, and some bad food ate. Things are starting to turn around, just need to stay on it.
I have more motivation than ever now. I had good friends ask me it I would be come ordained to marry them in November. So that is about 5 and a half months to get to looking good, and feeling healthier. aside from the bride and groom I will be the only other person people will be paying attention to. So I have to get my ass in gear and get everything together.
This seems to be a very popular trend on tumblr. The whole if you are XYZ, reblog and I will follow you… Why? why is this such a big thing? granted I guess it does help you get followers, but I don’t really see the value in it. Two of these types of titles came through my feed today, and I said to myself, “self, you should reblog that, it would be great to have more people following you.” But I paused for a moment, and decided to look at the quality of people that were reblogging this post. Out of the 100+ people that did the reblog, I only found 3 people that really interested me. But, you think “no way did you read everyone’s blog that reblogged.” and you are correct, I did not, but I do feel that I skimmed about 80 are so and what I found was kind of sad and boring.
Tons and tons of people, just posting picture after picture, of hot chicks lifting weights, or dudes with their shirts off… and food porn… ooooh the food porn. Those are the things that really make me not want to follow people. I mean I get it, posting pictures, of those you idolize, or a goal of what you want to look like is great, I post pics about a montra I want to hold in my mind, or an inspirational quote, those things I think help the community as a whole. I want to read tumblr postes that inspire, motivate, and energize and keep me wanting to move forward in my quest for a healthy mind, healthy body and a healthy life.
I want to connect with people online and offline in a very personal way, connect with people that are going through what I go through every day and know I am not the only one. Not the only one fighting to not go eat birthday cake at the company party, or dropping alcohol while trying to be fit. Knowing that I am not the one person around me that is trying to feel better about them self, and look better, and just be better. The fitblr community needs to be more than just a pile of pictures that don’t amount to anything more than some shitty designer that knows how to kern text to make it look neat.
Rant Done….
So I guess this should be my new starting weight sense I did not really weigh myself when I first started running, but I really don’t feel like I have lost anything due to the fact I have not been consistant enough on the running and eating right. But…
Last weigh in on blog : 9.24.11 250 lbs
Current weigh in : 5.23.12 266 lbs
This is slightly depressing, but not at all surprising. Eating right dropped off after the new year. Buying the house and working on that non stop had taken any time to work out, so I am not shocked at all. I knew I was gaining weight sense I could not fit comfortably into a few of my shirts, and things where getting tighter.
So new starting weight is 266 lbs. I’ve been here before, and actually been much worse than this. I most definitely determined to get myself back to 250, within the next month and a half. Going to start pushing the runs, and workouts harder. I have a couple weddings that are coming up, and the next one is near the end of july, so I think the goal would be under 245 by that wedding.
There was not much working out over the weekend, just a little walk on Friday, but there was plenty of yard work and gardening being done. A good 3-4 hours of heavy lifting moving of plants and 40lbs bags of dirt and fertilizer. But had a good date night with Heidi on Saturday, ate great all weekend, and we are both dead chilling on the couch. but we are bot now on the same day for C25k and we start week two tomorrow, weather permitting, possible thunder storms tomorrow.

Has anyone done any workouts that involve sandbag training? I just happen to stumble on a youtube video that showed some pretty good training, and exercise routines I thought were really interesting and looked fun to do. So while Heidi and I go out for a run I thought it would be great to have one of these bags along to do a couple routines while at the track.
